Bundled

This is a new inclusion to our food designs list, salt dough art. I saw a craft book about this and from there my interest grew. I never thought you can do something like this with salt dough and preserve it for a very long time. This inspired me to research further for artworks and creations featuring this. This is just one of the very basic design, plain baked and unpainted.

what are salt dough used for? can they be eaten? or was it solely for designs only?
i imagine it to be quite hard in material, able to be made into something such as this? :)

Levian,

I bet it can be eaten too if mixed right for a bread mixture but salt dough alone is a mixture of salt, water and flour. This way it can be baked and preserved for a long time so it's very ideal for designs.

Very interesting!
Who is brave enough to eat this piece of art?

Sabah,

This one is most likely for display and not for eating. Most salt dough arts are preserved and used for decorating =)

It's a bundle indeed! :) Are these edible?

Ayie said...

Mei,

i don't think it's edible, most salt dough baked arts are for display or decor purpose =)
