I'm not so sure what fruit or veggie was used for the bird's body but I'm guessing it's something like taro from the looks of it (I'm really unsure of my guess, haha). The tail looks so pretty.
I never had taro cake Mei, you have it in Malaysia? I ate it with some beef/pork soup but not much other dishes. One taro item I love most is Quickly's taro pudding/milkshakes. I miss having that, can't find a branch here up to now. =(
yeah i can tell you this is taro!!! i am selling vegetable in the wet market!! so i know!! yeah taro cake is nice... come to malaysia and i will buy you some =p
you have so many blogs here... which do you recommend me to visit??
Fufu, I also guessed by its texture thanks for justifying it. That's nice, fresh veggies! I love going to the farmers market just to get fresh produce. I'll let you know when I go to Malaysia, it's always being postponed.
Those blogs are of different categories, I can't really tell which will suit your fancy. My faves are food designs, street sketch and photojournal. =D
it is not always very purple-ish i thought? there are some pretty white ones around here, with those furry looking things within the material. i am .. struggling with the words. XD
Amazing work! I suppose they use it as a garnish on the dish?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I agree that it looks like taro.
ReplyDeleteBtw, thank you for taking the time to vote! :)
Hi Ai, I'm not sure if it was used as a garnish or just plain exhibit. The piece is great!
ReplyDeleteHi Mei, you also think it's taro? Do you like taro anyway?
ReplyDeleteNo prob with the vote, I like your eagle. =)

ReplyDeleteYes, I love eating taro. We eat it a savoury cake style, deep fried or braised with meat.
