Ricefield Art

I came across this image while doing my research for new food designs and creations. You might wonder why I included this among the food designs since it's not the readily edible food. I honestly considered it among the food group - rice. I'm just so amazed with Japanese people's creativity. It really left me thinking how they were able to come up with such concept and apply the design on to the rice fields. I just want to share this image and a few more of the same kind on my future postings.

  7. the best i could imagine is
maybe they designed n marked the earth before planting?
that would have set the colors right. :)

  11. couldn't come up with other ideas other than imagining them planting it manually.
it could be applied using machinery too.
my mind is running away, again. XD

  12. I bet it's manually planted, Japan still use local farmers for their crops but some areas sadly no more. Keep imagining levian, that's ok =)

  15. suddenly it seemed like there could be so many ways to plant that,
but when you look at it, there isn't any left.
i bet it was an exciting project for them to complete such a grand portrait. :D
