Happy 2012

Happy New Year To All!!!

PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES

Thanks to Wm Rowe

We cut costs by getting a satellite tv and internet bundle. Now, I have been able to save the money that save every month and use it for my guilty pleasure. My guilty pleasure is something that I had to stop doing for a while because I realized that I was spending sometimes fifteen dollars a week buying lattes at Starbucks. I started feeling really guilty about spending that much money because it was adding up to about sixty dollars a month, which was adding up to seven hundred and twenty dollars a year. That is way to much to pay for latte’s if you think of it in those terms! I only make fifteen dollars an hour at my job and have to pay taxes on that! I was working an hour a week, forty eight hours ( two days of my life) a year to pay for my Starbuck’s habit! That is a lot of money and time when you think about it yearly! So, I decided that since I was saving money on our monthly overhead, that I was going to allow myself two lattes a week. Now that the pumpkin spice lattes are out, I am even more glad that I saved money on internet and television. Those lattes are my favorite!

Perfect Match

What makes a perfect match? A big cutie cake with teeny weeny li'l cupcake!

Winter in Calgary

Calgary has been a popular destination for winter sports, it's a home to a number of major winter sporting facilities such as Canada Olympic Park and Olympic Oval.  Such facilities serve as the primary training venues for a number of competitive athletes.  Tourists are expected to come during the winter season to have the ultimate winter sports adventure no other place can really offer.

Though the mountains can be the ultimate destination for thrill seeking tourists, enjoying the downtown Calgary is also a must.  It's convenient enough to lodge in Calgary houses and apartments for rent in downtown Calgary  which make it more accessible to the cultural venues, public squares, shopping centers and famous bars and restaurants.  Downtown tourist attractions include Chinatown, Calgary Zoo, Telus World of Science, Telus Convention Center, Calgary Tower, Glenbow Museum, etc.
.
Downtown itself has so much to offer aside from all the above mentioned places, there are other great locations to see like the largest urban indoor gardens in the world, the Devonian Gardens.  Prince Island Park which is an urban park can take you to an enchanting garden trance while in the middle of the city.  Not to forget 17 Avenue as the ultimate haven for dining, shopping and nightlife.

The Gourmet Depot

A cup of perfectly brewed java a day can truly make a coffee lover's day!  The warm feeling and relaxing aroma of a freshly brewed coffee can make mornings be more delightful.  While some people steer away from coffee, others just can't resist it.  Drinking in moderation is not bad at all, in fact coffee has been known to contain antioxidants which are actually good for the body.

There are so many ways to enjoy a coffee depending on one's preference.  Black can really give you that kick with its robust flavor, it can also be nice and creamy with some milk or cream for a milder choice.  Coffee beans are roasted in different degrees and each kind of roast gives a distinct flavor or intensity to its taste.

Krups espresso maker can be a great kitchen addition for all coffee lovers. Achieving the starbucks or dunkin' donuts quality brew at the comfort of your home has never been easier.  Anybody can enjoy that coffee sensation without having to leave home, what could be better than waking up to the inviting smell of coffee.

Pink Piggies

pink piggies so cute and round!

Travel Bug

My husband and I really like to travel and it was tough for us when I got pregnant to finally settle down and buy a house. We did all the right things, got a nursery set up and went to CableTVAdvisor and found a security system, but at the end of the day I think both of us were still feeling the travel itch. It got to be too much about a year after Phoebe was born so we asked my mom to watch her and we went to Greece. I felt terrible the whole time we were away from her but it was really nice to have some time to decompress and really just relax again. We talked about it afterwards and decided that perhaps a week away on a foreign vacation is too much to ask but that once a year from now on we should do something just as a couple. I think it will keep our marriage alive and we spent so many years travelling outside the US we can stay here!

Thanks for the article from Glenda Hanson

Sweet Sunflower

It's so hard to believe this is all made of sugar, it looks so real!

Blue Sky Custom Scrubs

Happy Halloween!  Did you enjoy trick or treating with the kids?  It's always fun when people gather and do things together, seeing kids' faces with stretchy smiles while grabbing their treats and parents joining the fun of dressing up.  I've seen many adults wearing custom scrubs dressed up as doctors and bloody hospital patients while some dared flaunting their curves for a funkier and sexier costume.

Blue Sky has a great selection of scrubs, women can be more fashionable now wearing their scrub uniforms.  Unlike before scrubs used to be plain and very much uniformed in color, it's a whole new generation now with a splash of new hues and tones.  It can even be matched with designer hats, certainly anybody wearing it will stand out of the crowd.  Blue Sky guarantees their quality and you can be assured you get what you paid for.  To see more of the available selections check out http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/Original-Scrubs/ for details.

Begging Bread

Breads are always hard to work on but this one is such a craft!

Post Break: Relish

Cooking is an art in which you get to express yourself through the food you serve.  The old people say if you cook in bad mood, then your food won't really taste so right.  It's like your emotions serve as ingredients for your dishes no matter if you follow the recipes closely, the results will never be always the same.

All recipes are created with much passion and love, this way a food comes out to be good.  Those who are braving the kitchen to try on new dishes must never be afraid to create their own.  Recipes can vary from skills, preparation and complexity.  There are also some cases when recipes must be reinvented to suit whatever ingredients you have ready.

Relish.com has great number of recipes for all your cooking needs.  You can find thousands of free recipes which are just right for the home cooks like you.  Whether you're cooking for a regular dinner meal or a real party feast, you can count on the quick and easy recipes from Relish.  Main entree, appetizers, desserts, all of those can be done with ingredients easily accessible for you.

The Rice Goddess

Is it really true that there are goddesses all around? Maybe if it is then this is how the rice goddess looks like =)

Keeping kids in the house

We just had our second child. The second one is easy because the first one has paved the way and ironed out all the kinks in the house. When they are little, it is pretty easy. They do not crawl and there is nothing they can get to. However, when they start walking, everything has to be baby proof. The cabinets have locks on them, the outlets have guards on them and even the toilet has a latch to keep it closed. Once everything is baby proof, you might think there is nothing they can do now. Wrong! I had to go to www.AtlantaHomeSecurity.com and find an alarm system. The crazy thing is that my security system is not to keep robbers out, but to keep my kids inside the house. My son kept trying to climb out windows. I would send him to his room because he was whining or hitting or something that needed punishment and next thing I knew he had climbed out the window. The things children do will never surprise me.

Crazy Rice

Rice sure has many varieties and ways of cooking it but anybody who can prepare it this way must be really crafty. Amazingly crazy, don't you think?

Hot & Ready Espresso

Ready for your cup of hot java? No need to go to the cafe if you have any of the espresso machines from Seattle Coffee Gear. You can always make the best espresso just like how they have it in your favorite coffee shop right at home. How to make your espresso right will depend on how you follow the espresso making rule of thumb. A single shot is made from 7g coffee and should yield about 1.5 oz of espresso in 20-25 seconds. Sounds complicated huh? Don't worry because having the machine on hand lets you do this over and over til you perfect the winning brew.

It's true that espresso making is an art and just like baking or cooking, certain styles and standards must be observed to get it right. Same thing with finding the perfect machine for you and your needs. There are many different kinds of espresso machines and although they all work in a certain manner of operation, there will always be a distinct characteristic of your very own machine. Check out Seattle Coffee Gear to see their great inventory of coffee and espresso makers. If there's the Seattle's best coffee then where else can be the best machines come from?

Food and Wine

How can you tell the differences between wines? What could possibly be the difference between a fine wine and a rare wine? Wines are just drinks with alcohol as some people would claim who don't have the passion for wines. Are wines just mere fermented fruit drinks or something even more?

True that it's hard to differentiate wines from one to another for any normal person who doesn't have the proper knowledge about the wine industry. Someliers on the other hand know almost everything about wines, they are the so called wine stewards who underwent training and obtained a certification over the course of 6months. They are the wine professionals who specialize in wine services as well as wine and food matching.

Other than the Someliers, Sokolin knows what wine is all about too. It has been established since the early 30's and has been on wine business for a long time. Sokolin carries the world's most sought after wines as well as other high rated inexpensive wines. Wines are their passion and to sell the best of the best is their quest.

Leafy Latte

Such interesting patterns, don't you think so?

A new twist on Mexican pizza

I'm so glad that I was born into a culture that's so rich and a family that's so tight. There really is nothing like a Mexican family sharing our culture and some great food. So I want to carry on that tradition to my own children and their children and so on. It's only the best way to do that and learn where they came from. I also love taking classic dishes and putting twists on them. But then there are also other dishes that are considered Mexican, like Mexican pizza, but really aren't. That doesn't mean that they're not good though!

I went online to find a good recipe for just that dish because I was in the mood for it about a week ago. When I was doing that I saw the site DOMAINNAMES.com. After I read through it some I decided to sign up for one of the domains on there and start my own blog highlighting the great things about Mexican culture and cooking as a labor of love.

I did find a recipe for Mexican pesto pizza that simply sounds amazing. I can't wait to get my blog really going!
