Flower bowl


I am not so sure what kind of fruit was used but from the looks of it, I'm guessing papaya. Young papaya (green papaya) has the shape and colors similar to this. Very interesting artwork, I wish I'll get to learn this kind of art in time.

    I believe it is a winter melon. It tastes sweet and light when it is cooked (usually in soup). Amazingly detailed carving.

  5. Mei, 2 girls said it looks like melon...actually the 3 of you =) I had a visual of melon always oblong in shape that's why I thought of papaya all of a sudden =P

    Yes, red strings are so chinese in design =)
